In Rostov-on-don, Russia various amount of ships sunk causing a large amount of oil to spill on the sea. Rescuers recovered three bodies from one of the sunken Russian ships yet five were still missing. One of the ships called "The Nakhichevan" was broken down by 18-foot waves on the Strait of Kerch, a narrow strait linking the Black Sea and the smaller Sea of Azov. The Nakhichevan was one of the two freighters that broke up into heavy seas. As many as 10 ships sank or ran around in the Strait of Kerch. Fuel oil and sulfur spilled into the sea and is washing up on nearby shores. One of the officials stated: it could be the worst environmental disaster in the region in years, and could take years to clean up.
